INTERcessorNET: Prodigal's Return 02/06/2006 It's time for the prodigals to return! It's time for the Father's heart of love to arise in the body to welcome and draw the prodigals back to the family of God. There are many families that have prodigals who have wandered from the faith of their ancestors and have gone after the ways of the world. The temptations of the world are very seductive but friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4). The spirit of this age is an arch enemy to the purposes and callings of God in a person's life. Through offenses, cares, pressures, distractions, blindness, pride, legalism, religious persecution, deceitfulness of riches, and the lust for other things, it comes to steal the Word sown (Matthew 13:18-22, 2 Corinthians 3:6b). Just as Hosea went after his unfaithful wife Gomer to bring her back, so the Lord pursues us with his love. His love is tender, loyal, unchanging, and undying. No matter what, God still loves those that have wandered away from the family of God and from their relationship with God (Hosea 3:1). The spirit of Jezebel, which is a type of the seductive spirit of this world, comes to steal our birthright -- the family vineyard or inheritance that belonged to our ancestors; the generational blessing that our grandparents and parents have sown into their future generations for a thousand generations; the seed of the Word of God. This spirit of Jezebel is jealous and covetous for our inheritance and comes to sabotage future generations and bring death to our inheritance through deception, religion and legalism, offense, apathy, complacency, slumber, death, drugs, hopelessness, discouragement, intimidation and confusion, so that their eyes are blinded to the truth (1 Kings 21:3, 2 Corithians 4:4). Just as Jezebel murdered Naboth in order to steal his family inheritance (his birthright -- the harvest of the vineyard obtained by his ancestors), that same spirit is out to steal our inheritance which our ancestors obtained by faith in the Word of God. This blessing was to be passed on to their seed and their seeds' seed for a thousand generations (Isaiah 59:21, Deuteronomy 7:9). The church, which represents the family of God, needs to unconditionally love and welcome back the backslider like Hosea did with Gomer -- like the father did with the prodigal son and restored everything back him: authority, honour, prosperity, love, and acceptance into the family (Luke 15:22-24). We need to birth a visitation of the Father's love to the church, and to fathers specifically, so that there is heartfelt love, compassion, and acceptance of the prodigal back into the family of God (Luke 15:20). The Lord has revealed that rejection from the church because of the legalistic, judgmental attitudes of not measuring up to the standards of the law -- a harsh, cold, and unloving atmosphere rather than one of mercy and the goodness of God -- is at the root of the prodigal's experience. Religious legalism that rejects people because they don't measure up, is like sticking them in their hearts with the tail of a scorpion and releasing venom. This venom poisons their hearts with offense, rebellion, discouragement, hopelessness, and disillusionment about the realness of God's goodness, love, and acceptance. There needs to be a change in the church so that it reflects the genuine Father heart of God which will draw the prodigals back into the family of God. Because the prodigals are overcoming rejection, condemnation, shame, guilt and fear, they need to be welcomed with open arms and hearts. Realize that they may reject those who reach out to them because they have experienced rejection from being around religious legalism. We need to persist in reaching out to them with acceptance and the love of God. We need to not only pray for the prodigals, but for the family of God to welcome them back with unconditional love. Releasing the fire of God's Word and the Holy spirit will release God's love because the Word of God is God's love for us and the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Confession for the Prodigals' return to the family of God and the release of the Father's love Father, in the name of Jesus, we humble ourselves before You and we acquaint ourselves with Your Word. We set ourselves in agreement with your will and Your Word. We put Your Words in our mouth. We put unrighteousness far from us. We ask You to forgive the fathers and the church for judging, condemning, and persecuting the backslider. We ask you to forgive us for rejecting them and holding them at arms length. We ask you to forgive us for not reaching out to them with the Father's love and acceptance. Forgive us for avoiding them. Forgive us for not laying our lives down for them in fervent, heartfelt prayer that releases the love of God by the power of the Holy Ghost. We repent from this unrighteousness on behalf of ourselves and the family of God. Father, we ask you to give us a heart of compassion and a spirit of intercession for the prodigals and fathers of this nation, in the Name of Jesus. We delight ourselves in You and we lift our faces to You, Lord, and we ask of you things to come concerning Your sons, and concerning the work of your hands. We declare that the light of God's favor shines upon those who are backslidden and low and that You lift them up. You deliver the ones for whom we intercede who are not innocent. Yes, they are delivered by the cleanness of our hands. We proclaim that _____ and other prodigals of this nation belong to God and that they are God's property and our inheritance. Spirit of Jezebel, take your hands off of ______ and every prodigal in this nation. Take your hands off of our vineyard, in the mighty name of Jesus. You will not steal the incorruptible Word of God that was sown in their hearts, in the name of Jesus. We apply the blood of Jesus and the washing of the water of the word of God to remove and wash off the dirt of life from the heart of _____ and the prodigals of this nation. We declare that those hidden treasures of truth, the incorruptible Word of God, will no longer be obscured from their vision by blindness, offense, rebellion, and the spirit of this world, in the name of Jesus. We call forth the incorruptible Word of God sown in the heart of _____, and in every prodigal in the nation, to germinate and come forth and rise to the forefront of their lives and to speak to them about Your goodness, Lord, in the name of Jesus. We ask You to manifest Your goodness to every prodigal to bring them to repentance. Today, we declare that we have been given authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses; and nothing shall in any way stop us or _____; harm us or ______. Today, in the mighty name of Jesus, we break off the spirit of this world -- rebellion, Jezebel, rejection, blindness, uncleanness, shame, condemnation, judgment, hopelessness, death, destruction, and guilt-- off ______ and the prodigals and backsliders of this nation. LOOSE THEM AND LET THEM GO, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! LOOSE THEM AND LET THEM GO IN JESUS NAME! BE LOOSED FROM THE SPIRIT OF THIS AGE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! BE LOOSED FROM THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! THEY WILL NO LONGER BE A EUNUCH AND MANIPULATED BY THIS SPIRIT! BE LOOSED FROM ALL REJECTION AND DECEPTION, IN THE NAME OF JESUS. BE LOOSED FROM ALL REBELLION AND BLINDNESS, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! LOOSE ______, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! LOOSE EVERY PRODIGAL IN THIS NATION, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! BE LOOSED! BE LOOSED! (Pray in the spirit here until you have the release) Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for the Lord of the harvest to thrust forth labourers who are filled to overflowing, radiating Your love into the life of ______ and the prodigals of this nation. We ask You, Holy Spirit, to open the eyes of their understanding and flood them with the knowledge of the truth. We declare that they know the truth and the truth sets them free. We ask for the grace of God to give them the gift of repentance. We pray that the love of God would be shed abroad in the heart of ______, the prodigals, and the fathers of this nation. We decree that the spirit and power of Elijah is released over ______ (name the prodigal) and ______ (name the fathers and the church) to turn back the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient, incredulous, and unpersuadable, to the wisdom of the upright which is the knowledge and holy love of the will of God, in order to make ready for the Lord a people perfectly prepared in spirit, adjusted and disposed and placed in the right moral state. We ask for a mighty outpouring of the rain of Your love to be poured out to remove the sting of religion that has defiled the hearts of the prodigals, in the name of Jesus. I pray for the son of righteousness to arise with healing in His wings, to heal the prodigals and the fathers who have been eunuchs. We say, WAKE UP, YOU MIGHTY WARRIORS AND INTERCESSORS TO PRAY FOR THE RELEASE OF THE LOVE OF GOD. I ASK YOU LORD TO POUR OUT A SPIRIT OF PRAYER ON THE WARRIORS SO THAT THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD BE RELEASED TO BE SHED ABROAD IN EVERY PERSON'S HEART LIKE A CONSUMING FIRE TO REMOVE THE OBSTACLES IN THE WAY OF THE FATHER'S LOVE BEING RELEASED TO THE PRODIGALS, IN JESUS' NAME. We declare that the prodigals and the fathers love the Lord their God with all of their heart, with all their soul, with all of their mind, and all of their strength. We ask that the fathers and the church would draw the prodigals back to God with warm cords of God's love. I decree that the prodigals will seek You, Lord, because of the manifestation of the love and power they see displayed in the fathers and the body of Christ, in Jesus' name. Father, we confess that our love abounds yet more and more and extends to its
fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight and that our love displays
itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment, so
that we, the fathers, and the prodigals learn to sense what is vital and approve
and prize what is excellent and of real value (recognizing the highest and the
best, and distinguishing the moral differences), and that we may be untainted
and pure and unerring and blameless (so that with hearts sincere and certain and
unsullied, we may approach) the day of Christ (not stumbling nor causing others
to stumble); that the church and the fathers would abound in and be filled with
the fruits Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that You grant the body of Christ and the fathers, out of the rich treasury of Your glory, to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit Himself indwelling their innermost being and personality. We pray that Christ through their faith actually dwell, settle down, abide, make His permanent home in their hearts. We pray that they may be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, that they may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints, God's devoted people, (the experience of that love) what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it; (that they may really come) to know (practically through experience for themselves) the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge (without experience); that they may be filled through all their being unto all the fullness of God (may have the richest measure of the divine presence and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself). To Him who, by (in consequence of) the action of Your power that is at work within them, is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we (dare) ask or think (infinitely beyond our highest prayer, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams) -- to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. We ask You, Lord, that Your mercy and goodness would grant the prodigals the grace to forgive themselves. Today, by faith, we believe that as we surrender ourselves to You, Lord, in prayer and intercession in the Spirit, that the love of God is being shed abroad in the hearts of the intercessors, the prodigals, the church and the fathers of this nation, in the mighty name of Jesus. (Pray in the spirit until you have a release -- shout the victory in thanksgiving and praise).
